The promotion of psychological wellbeing is one of the aims of environmental health, by considering the individual and his surroundings.

A successful therapy relies on the quality of the relationship between the patient and the health care professional: respect, listening and empathy but also the clarification of the aims to reach are the basics of a therapy. Systemic and family therapy consider the individual and his system and they are based on cybernetics and the radical constructivism.

The client is the expert of his life including also his problems and his solutions. Looking for exceptions and ressources, considering the effects and consequences of actions, accepting restrictions and opening the view for liberty of choice and actions are the main parts of a systemic therapy, either in an individual, a couple or a family setting.

Somatic diseases should be ideally detected and treated aside by a medical doctor. Psychotherapy is one of the branches of an interdisciplinary network of environmental health, including osteopathy, physiotherapy, nutrition and bioconstruction experts a.o. which allows to take into consideration the whole individual and his surroundings and to have a positiv or even curativ impact.

The results of recent studies in neurology and psycho-neurology have been included into psychotherapy and its methods. (For example: Bifocal multisensorial technics have proven their efficiency specially for patients suffering PTSD) It’s important to include the newest research on resilience as well.
